If someone visited my city for one day, I would definitely bring them to Mount Apo. Mount Apo is a popular landmark for the Davao Region in the Philippines. Technically may not be found within the city of Davao, but Mount Apo is synonymous with Davao, my city.
If DigitalDavao were to approach this week’s challenge by the Davao Bloggers Society, we could’ve pointed out something like a mall’s tech section and speak about the options on what is available to digest for the consumer tech market of the city. But let us take this outside of the tech world and bring our audience outside to literally “touch grass”.
Personally, DigitalDavao has only been once to the summit of Mount Apo and it truly is majestic. The experience of being so high up on the peak, the view of nothing else higher than where you stand, feeling the gust of wind that you barely felt all your life, the freshness, the smell of sulfur, the taste of wild berries and free potatoes on the way to the top, the dark of night and the dew drops in the morning. That someone visiting my city for one day and getting to experience these, better be special. You’ll be surprised if you get to visit Mount Apo, that it is not just a place but a state of unexplainable happiness every time you visit the core of your memory.
