Holcim reiterates readiness to support Mindanao recovery amid Covid-19, the leading cement manufacturer in the Philippines has vowed to help in the development of Mindanao in the middle of Covid-19 pandemic, the health and safety and commercial innovation as vital elements.

On September 2, 2020, Holcim Philippines Senior Vice President and Chief Finance Officer Jena Rojas provided an overview of the company’s Health, Cash and Cost Framework in response to the challenges of Covid-19. Together with the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Assistant Secretary Romeo Montenegro as well as representatives from the Department of Public Works and Highways Region XI and XII offices they discussed their response to the challenges during the pandemic.

Jena Rojas relayed the company’s quick response to the challenging situation by focusing on Health, Cash and Cost. Prioritizing Health and safety of their people, preserving their cash to support the company’s needs and keeping the costs locked in for the most essential aspects of the business.

William Sumalinog, Holcim Philippines Senior Vice President, said that Holcim is well equipped in supporting the Department of Trade and Industry to improve identified poor infrastructures that hold back manufacturing in the Philippines, in order to raise the industry’s competitiveness. New building solutions such as road infrastructure cement Solido and pavement repair solution superFastCrete and other digital innovations were discussed during the Mindanao Business Conference on September 10, wherein he was joined in the virtual panel by Senator Imee Marcos, Board of Investments Governor Napoleon Concepcion and Oro Chamber President Robertino Pizarro.

Holcim Philippines introduces Misamis Oriental and Davao Plant Managers

Holcim Philippines Senior Vice President and Chief Finance Officer Jena Rojas introduced Holcim’s new leaders for its Misamis Oriental and Davao Plant Managers, Arnold Pepino and Sam Manlosa. Rojas noted that it’s Mindanao plants are both headed by Mindanawons, the first time in the company’s history. Both talked about Holcim Philippines’ efforts to be more prudent on costs and make operations safer from Covid-19.
