Just the year ended, this huge package came in from our friends at DarkFlash Taiwan. It is DarkFlash’s latest dual chamber PC case, the ARCEE DY470. The packaging has “LUXURY PC CASE” written on it, so this is probably DarkFlash’s flagship PC case. Specifications are available on the side of the box if you’d like to know the exact measurements for your build needs.
Out of the box the case is supported by 2 thick foam materials to keep it snug. The DarkFlash tool box which holds the screws, cleaning cloth and cable tie is slotted onto one of the foams. The DY470 comes in two colors, white and black. We got the black case for review.
Here’s the first look of the case.
The case can definitely accommodate ITX, Micro ATX and ATX motherboards, but we recommend this for ATX motherboard builds alone. You wouldn’t want all that excess space showing when you pair this case with smaller motherboard form factors.
Dual chamber PC cases used to be wider and bulkier but with the DY470 it seems that everything is calculated and well thought off. Both the top and bottom of the case are capable of mounting 360mm radiators giving system builders enough room to work their creativity.
A total of ten 120mm fan mounting points are found on this case, ensuring air flow won’t be a problem for builds using air coolers. NO 140mm fan mounts for this case. YES! You read that right. The DY470 does not support 140mm fans.
Four 120mm fans are included for ARCEE DY470. They look great, especially with RGB turned on. Quiet and powerful enough to bring good airflow for a dual chamber case.
Air filters are also found on top and bottom fan mounts, to keep dust to a minimum.
As we wait for the release of the RTX 5000 series, the DY470 is capable of housing graphic cards up to 410mm in length, which means it provides ample room for possibly longer graphic cards in the future. The case has a low-key GPU support slotted on the side of the motherboard back panel. We can only hope that it comes with the vertical GPU mount, to exhibit the components better. However, this feature is clearly stated on the box. So, there might be a model where the vertical mount is already included with the package or it’s sold separately.
DarkFlash ARCEE DY470 is a three-sided glass construction, perfect for showcasing your pc components. Tempered glass side panels look different for both white and black models as seen from other posts on the internet. White models tend to have a clear glass, while the black models have a dark tint on it.
The motherboard plate is designed to accommodate ATX Back-mounted motherboards. Where cutouts are readily available to achieve a clean build hiding all wires at the back.
The power supply chamber is interesting, it is covered with a shroud to hide the nasty wiring view but it sits right at the back of the motherboard where you can have NO access to when you have the power supply already mounted.
Right below the power supply is a removable cage for regular 3.5mm hard drives.
The side panel cover has a mesh right where both the case and power supply fans are located for efficient cooling.
