DigitalDavao reviews the HONOR 600S 5G, the latest offering from HONOR on the sub Php20,000.00 budget smartphone.
Looks
The HONOR 600S 5G comes in three different color variants – Velvet Black, Desert Gold and Misty Purple. I got to review the Misty Purple variant and I see this color is quite appealing to users who enjoy pastel colors. DigitalDavao usually favors monochromatic design in smartphones, too bad Velvet Black isn’t available for this review. The silicon case will definitely mute some of that pastel color when it is used. Overall, the three color variant choices are definitely enough to cater the consumer market.
Processing Power
The HONOR 600S 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen4 and Adreno 613. This combination may be entry-level but still capable of doing most of the daily tasks of a regular consumer. Powerful enough to play your favorite mobile games just unable to max it out, capable of editing photos and videos with ease but just on the lower resolution.
Camera
The HONOR 600S 5G has a single 50MP AI main camera, which allows 1080P video resolution. Front camera is 5MP and can record 1080P at 30fps. This is quite a step back compared to what is on the market right now, but for sure there’s a market for a smartphone with just these camera capabilities.
Display
The HONOR 600S 5G has a 6.872 inches TFT Display. Probably one of the largest displays next to a flagship phone. While the HONOR 600S 5G sits at the middle of the smartphone budget, a huge display is definitely a selling point. This is targeting consumers who just want to watch on a bigger smartphone screen with some budget constraint as they have to be content with a TFT Display panel rather than AMOLED or such.
Battery
The HONOR 600S 5G has a battery capacity of 8100mAh. This is where DigitalDavao believes the smartphone shines. Combined with the Processor and Graphics Processing Unit, the battery allows the phone to efficiently use up the battery for an entire day of a busy schedule. You’ll be surprised at how long this phone can last while processing your photo/video content creation and editing, video streaming, manga/pdf binge and gaming all in one charge.
Conclusion
The HONOR 600S 5G may not appeal to the consumers who’ll squeeze every ounce of tech advancement on their purchase, but it definitely has a target market which enjoys big screen displays and delivers extended single-charge battery life, with a decent straight-forward single main camera and a fair price point.
